Most Westside neighborhoods were built from the 1980s on, so buyers find newer construction, bigger garages and more square footage for the money than in older parts of the city. Taylor Ranch, Paradise Hills, Ventana Ranch and Volcano Cliffs are among the established areas, with new subdivisions still going up on the edges.
Petroglyph National Monument and its volcano trails sit in the middle of the area, and the Cottonwood Mall area covers shopping. Paseo del Norte, Montano, I-40 and Central carry commuters across the river.
